The life of a Girl Boss can be extremely hectic. From scheduling meetings, making appointments, conference calls, emails, and deadlines– It sometimes feels impossible to digest everything mentally. However, as the masters of multi-tasking, we always feel up to the challenge. Thankfully, we live in a very technologically savvy world, and we are finding more and more apps and software programs that are making life a whole lot easier just with a click of a button.
Google is an incredible tool for staying organized, not to mention a one stop shop. We love communicating through Google Drive and Google Calendar. Google Drive gives you the opportunity to store, sync and share documents and data with your team. Share and work on documents together with your team in real time. Google calendar, is a great tool for keeping all of your deadlines in one space, you can also add a To- Do list to your calendar. You can share your calendar with your team as well as use color codings for each task. I love using shared calendars because I like to be accountable for my list of things to do that day.
UNUM is by far one of my favorite apps to use! UNUM is an app that allows you to schedule, edit and create your IG aesthetic. We love planning our content weeks, so having this app makes it possible to be ahead of the game. Using this app also allows us to see how our pictures look next to one another, this helps us to stay on brand and keep our aesthetic strong.
Being able to communicate effectively with our team is a must have. Slack allows you to do just that, from anywhere around the world. Have your team join the team on slack and voila, now you all are chatting. We love to schedule times where the team will long on and we can have a meeting via slack about upcoming content or events. One of the great things about Slack, the conversation never goes away, so you can revisit at any time and grab ideas or discussion topics and put them to use. Sometimes when on conference calls or in person it’s easy to misplace information that was discussed while meeting. Using this program to communicate with your team keeps everything in one place.
Creating content can be tough when it hasn’t been planned. It’s sometimes can be difficult for someone to come up with intriguing content on the fly. So we have created a content calendar, this calendar is filled with our content for the whole month. This allows us to be ready for the rough draft and due date, giving us enough time to come up with coordinating pictures for social media and captions. We start by just jotting down titles that we want to write about; we think of as many as we can, we also ask you. We always want to make sure that we are creating content that you want to read about, once that is done we add our favorites to the calendar.
Canva is my main squeeze! I am absolutely obsessed with it. You don’t need to have professional design skills to make something look really professional because the platform is SO SIMPLE to use, which allows you to create flawless projects. You can create flyers, logos, presentations, social media pics that look like a professional designer designed them.
This is less productivity based and more pure efficiency. Dropbox is my favorite cloud storage tool right know! You can access your files from any device you’ve linked up. It saves you the time of having to put stuff on USBs or email yourself files across devices.Plus it keeps all your files backed up online in case of coffee or virus related accidents that might befall your laptop. Oh, yea, and its FREE!!!
This is a great system for scheduling your post and having them go live on multiple social networks. Now, we just started using this system last month, so we are still learning and deciding if we love it. But, so far so good. It can be hard to post to all of your social platforms; this gives you the opportunity to schedule and hit one button. Once you’ve hit share, it shares to all platforms.
With bit.ly, you can make all of those long annoying links, short + pretty. I often create a shorter + easy to remember bit.ly link that I add into each of our Instagram posts. This will redirect followers to that specific URL, without clogging up your caption with a lot of unnecessary bulk. With the app, you can create short links on the fly!
