Finding new friends isn’t always easy and comfortable. Sometimes, as much as you want to have friendships, you’d just rather curl up with a book than attending some social gathering or meet-up with a group of strangers. Particularly for introverts, it takes a lot of emotional energy to put yourself out there.
But you can’t belly up and remain a hermit forever. You have to find a way to connect with people and make friendships that make you feel fulfilled and inspired! If you are struggling to find new friends in your area, we’ve got you covered!
Facebook events are one of the best ways to find cool events in your area, and you can see who is attending. Facebook allows you to see if the members that are going are your type of crowd before you even go to the event. Keep an open in mind when looking for local events, you meet some really cool people and make friends with people with similar interests. I love attending the local yoga events at Piedmont and Inman Park in Atlanta. I always meet someone cool and we already have yoga as common ground to start a conversation.
There are a lot of cool niche groups on Facebook where you can also find girlfriends with common interests. We highly recommend joining our tribe on our Facebook group; we have very cool threads to keep you motivated to accomplish your goals every day of the week! You will also get to know other bossbabes with similar mindsets and interests to inspire you and hold you accountable along the journey!
Meet Up is a great social networking site to help you find local events in your area. You can simply enter a subject you are passionate about in the All Meetups search section of the site – MeetUp Search, Or you can join our LuxexLife Meetup Group to stay in touch with us!
Girlfriend Social is the biggest female-only friendship social networking sites available. Girlfriend Social was established in 2009 and is growing at an incredible pace because it’s free and the platform is really user friendly and fun to use.

Local Friendship searching, Personality Quizzes, and Private messaging is all inside! They also manage popular women themed blog that includes women themed positive stories under the Girlfriend Social Brand and local companies are able to post events in your area.
Women Networking Events
An excellent way to find networking events in your area is to find your local women’s networking week! The Women’s Network is a group that shares valuable resources for professional women to grow in their careers. We like that their focus is not about paying a fee to distribute business cards; it’s about learning best practices for career success and developing business relationships that last. To join the Atlanta’s Women Networking Events check out the Atlanta Chapter.

The National Association of Women Business Owners is a great organization for women entrepreneurs because it provides an outlet for women business owners across the country to share their creativity and inspire and support each other in their pursuits. Mutual interest Conference
A common and straightforward way to make new girlfriends is to find a conference about something you are passionate about. I love fitness and health, so I have attended events like Bomicon hosted by the Bombshell Team. It was fun to meet some of my girlfriends who are dear to my heart until this day. Some of these events even give you the opportunity to find a roommate who is also attending the conference, so you will be able to bond with someone with a similar interest and save on your #girlstrip getaway.
